Ad Companies are Not Fulfilling their IP Compliance Commitments.

White Bullet’s Q3 2018 data found that 31% of the ad companies involved in ad placement to pirate and counterfeit websites have taken the TAG Antipiracy Pledge or are signatories to EU MOU on Advertising and IPRs (EUMOU).These companies have committed to minimise misplaced advertising on websites that infringe intellectual property. This is a five percent increase since Q2 2018.Most of these ad companies operate within the programmatic ecosystem and have adopted self-regulatory measures or non-piracy specific brand safety solutions to ensure they are not inadvertently funding illegal pirate and counterfeit websites.White Bullet’s Q3 data clearly shows that without IP focussed tools that can assess IP infringement risk in real time and at scale, the programmatic ecosystem will continue to provide illegal operators with ad revenue.That ad revenue is coming from significant campaigns (branded ad campaigns represented 76% of all campaigns in Q3).
